My top five favorite places in Minnesota

As someone who was born and raised in Minnesota into a family that loves to travel, I get to witness many beautiful hidden treasures our state has to offer. In this post I will create a list of my top five places I have been to in Minnesota with a description about what makes it so special.

  1.  Voyagers National Park. This vast protected land takes the lead in my top five list because of its wildlife, fishing, hiking, cliff jumping and clean water. In this park you are allowed to take motorized boats which means you can go out quite far and have your campsite as secluded as you want making this a great escape from a busy lifestyle and enjoy the peace of nature.

      2. Walker, located right on Leach Lake, this is a classic northern Minnesota town with plenty of small shops and restaurants to keep you busy. Walker also has a pier on the lake which is perfect for sight seeing and fishing.

    3. Itasca State Park, the headwaters of the Mississippi, is a awesome place to go for canoeing, hiking and making memories with your family or friends. While at Itasca you have options that can only be found in this park such as taking a fairy ride or climbing a 100 ft fire tower.

 4.  Tettegouche State Park. This park will amaze you as you gaze into the passive cliffs overlooking lake Superior. it also has some of the best hiking around.

    5. Superior Hiking Trail. this Trail is perfect for those who crave pushing themselves to the limit (of course in return for amazing views). I made my first backpacking trip on this trail and although it was a lot of incline and work I would do it again in a heart beat.
